Since graduating from Central Saint Martins in 2017, Lagos-born, London-based designer, Mowalola Ogunlesi, has dressed the likes of Naomi Campbell, Solange, Skepta and Barbie. Her work is a full-throttle, skin-clinging homage to subcultures from Lagos to London, infused with music, sex and politics. Just don’t brand her “the African designer”. “The conversations that I want people to be having in Nigeria are the same conversations that people are having here in London,” she says. “At the end of the day, I’m just a designer making shit that I want to make.”
