The Los Angeles Lakers fan favorite had a very short showing on Saturday
The official restart to the 2019-20 NBA season is less than a week away, and the Los Angeles Lakers are looking to fix up any loose ends, because they’re going all in to win the NBA Championship inside the Walt Disney World bubble.
On Saturday, the Lakers played their second-of-three scrimmage games against the Orlando Magic. This game turned out to be an easy day for guard Alex Caruso, but not exactly in a good way. In the third quarter, Caruso fouled out after logging under 12 minutes of playing time.
It wasn’t an easy day for the Lake Show
This is the equivalent of your boss telling you to just clock out for the day as you’re about to leave for lunch. Thanks for coming, goodbye!
Entering Saturday, Caruso was listed as day-to-day due to a minor back contusion. Yet, he was deemed healthy enough to play on Saturday.
All in all, Caruso managed to score three points on two shots while dishing out two assists.
The troubles continued for the Lakers. On top of Caruso fouling out, power forward Anthony Davis left the game after being unintentionally poked in the eye and didn’t return. In Davis’ nine minutes of action, he recorded nine points and grabbed 10 boards.
The Lakers have one more scrimmage game to go, as they face the Washington Wizards on Monday afternoon. Head coach Frank Vogel will likely play things safe, considering what occurred on the court on Saturday and that they open up the restart this upcoming Thursday against the rival Los Angeles Clippers.
Play it safe, Lakers.
