FDA authorises Johnson & Johnson’s vaccine in the US

The US drugs regulator has authorised the country’s third coronavirus vaccine, giving emergency approval to the jab made by Johnson & Johnson.
The Food and Drug Administration said on Saturday it had given the go-ahead for the J&J inoculation, which will be the first to involve only a single shot.
Janet Woodcock, the acting head of the FDA, said in a statement: “The authorisation of this vaccine expands the availability of vaccines, the best medical prevention method for Covid-19, to help us in the fight against this pandemic, which has claimed over half a million lives in the United States.”
