NORTH PLATTE, Neb. (KNOP) –
The Hershland Trojans baseball team picked up their second win of the season, defeating Cozad on Thursday night.
In a similar fashion as their first win of the season, the Trojans needed a late rally to pull ahead after falling behind early in the game. The Reds led 4-0 after two innings and got a solid pitching outing from their starting pitcher, who struck out nine batters on the night. The Trojans drove in four runs in the fourth inning, thanks in part to some fielding miscues by the Reds.
Hershland scored eight of their ten runs in the final two innings. The win was the second comeback win for the Trojans in as many weeks. Conner Hogan knocked in five of the teams ten runs, and Harmon Johnson struck out five batters over a five inning stretch.
